Care of Your Soap: To extend the life of your handmade soap, please keep in a well-draining dish and store in a well-ventilated area. Handmade soap contains naturally-occurring glycerin, which is fantastic for your skin, but will draw moisture to your soap. Our wooden soap decks are an excellent choice for a dish.
Variations: As this is a handmade product, colors and variations in patterns will occur and are part of the charm of buying handmade. Each item is unique.
Shelf-Life of Handmade Soap: The general shelf life of these artisan soaps is typically 1-3 years if stored properly. Note, that scent can and does fade as the bar gets ages. For best scent experience, soap should be used within 6-12 months of purchase. I, personally, have stored and used soap as long as eight years after making. As the soap gets older, you may notice a decline in the scent level of the soap. This is normal and to be expected. Handmade soap is much like wine and cheese, in that the quality often benefits from extended curing. Unfortunately, the oils and butters in the bar do have a shelf life and can begin to oxidize and break down. So, while soap can be stored and used at a later date, it is not indefinite.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place. A linen closet is typically ideal.
